  • They Shall Laugh and Sing: Great Malvern Festival of Music
  •
  •  Date Posted: Sun, 15 Jun 2025

The Great Malvern Festival of Singing, running from 4th–9th August 2025 in the heart of the Malvern Hills.

This week-long festival is all about celebrating the richness and joy of choral singing, with something for every kind of singer – from the quietly curious to the seasoned enthusiast. There are flexible options for individuals and groups, with residency packages (meals and accommodation included) so singers can fully immerse themselves without any fuss.

We’ve created an exciting and varied programme, including:

    * Brahms’ Requiem – a chance to sing this magnificent work in the original German, in the magnificent Priory at Great Malvern.

    * Will Todd’s Mass in Blue – jazz-infused and electrifying, with a jazz quartet, again in the Priory

    * A Renaissance & Plainsong course – beautifully blending old-world polyphony and chant, in the historic chapel at Malvern College. Programme includes: Monteverdi - Ave Maris Stella, White - Christe qui Lux es et dies, Tallis- In Manus Tuas & O Nata Lux, Sheppard - Libera Nos Salva Nos, Marenzio - Magnificat Octavi Toni, and Victoria - Nunc Dimittis

    * Workshops, vocal coaching, and space to simply enjoy making music with others

    * Recitals given by the wonderful professional soloists, who will be joining us for the Brahms and the Todd

Singers are invited to come for two, four or six days, with residency and non-residency options.

It could be a wonderful summer outing for your choir, or something to share with individual members who’d enjoy a rich week of singing in stunning surroundings.

You can find full details with both Residency and Non-Residency Options by pressing the buttons below.

This is set to be the most glorious week of music making, and all done in our unique They Shall Laugh & Sing style. We would be so grateful if you would pass on the details to colleagues in your choirs.
